FAQ

Is therapy right for me?

If you have not engaged in therapy before, you may have many questions about what therapy will be like for you. If you are currently experiencing stressors, are interested in developing skills to manage life transitions, or would like support in developing a healthy relationship with your thoughts and emotions, therapy sessions may provide you a space to begin exploring these and many other topics.

What if I am unsure about what I want to address in therapy?

As we begin our sessions, we can work together to clarify what your goals are for therapy. As you begin to explore your thoughts, emotions and responses to challenges you may learn there are new topics you’d like to address in therapy.

How long will I be in therapy for?

This can be difficult to predict! The duration of therapy may depend on what you’d like to address, the coping tools you’d like to learn or the severity of the symptoms you are experiencing.

Is my information confidential?

The information you share with me in sessions is confidential and protected by HIPAA unless you disclose you are a danger to yourself, a danger to others, if you inform me of any suspected child/elder/dependent person abuse, or if you may be gravely disabled. Your safety and privacy are priorities and we can discuss any additional questions you may have about confidentiality.
